The Merredin Energy Power Station is an 82MW plant consisting of 2 GE frame 6B gas turbines operating in open cycle configuration.
The $93 million open cycle power station operates as a peaking station to support the South-West Interconnect System (SWIS) at peak periods, especially when WA is experiencing extremely hot weather or gas supply disruptions. View Details

Rio Tinto's Flash Butt Welding Facility
About The Project
Rio Tinto’s new 750m Flash Butt Welding Facility was built as part of Rio Tinto’s rail capacity enhancement projects.
The computerised facility flash butt welds stock lengths of rail up to 400m long. The rail is loaded onto trains with onsite cranes and is then transported to its destination on Rio’s rail network. View Details

The West Angelas Power Station project is part of Rio Tinto’s 360 million tonnes per annum project to support the expansion of its iron ore mining operations in the Pilbara.
The 80MW open cycle power station is being built using low emission GE LM6000 PF sprint gas turbines. The units will be dual fuelled with the capacity to run on natural gas or diesel. View Details
