About The Project
Rio Tinto’s new 750m Flash Butt Welding Facility was built as part of Rio Tinto’s rail capacity enhancement projects.
The computerised facility flash butt welds stock lengths of rail up to 400m long. The rail is loaded onto trains with onsite cranes and is then transported to its destination on Rio’s rail network.

What We Did
Supplied and installed:• Formwork, HD bolts, and embedded items,• Approx 6000m3 of concrete,• Concrete cutting and mastic jointing,• Grouting,• Preparation of earthworks for foundations• Skilled labour hire.
